About our Race

The Moovin' thru the Midway 5K Presented by Wells Fargo debuted at the Michigan State Fair in 2019. This one of a kind race takes runners and participants of all ages and abilities on an immersive course through the Michigan State Fairgrounds, including the Circus Tent, Carnival Midway, even interior vendor exhibits! The course finishes at the Beer Tent where participants are rewarded with medals, a sponsor branded photograph, and light refreshments. In addition to these finishing perks, participants are provided a Complimentary Ultimate Wristband and a Moovin’ thru the Midway 5K Presented by Wells Fargo dry fit T-shirt. In 2020 the Moovin’ thru the Midway 5K transitioned to a Virtual platform where participants were able to run or walk the race at home or a location of their choice. This virtual element will remain in place in addition to the in person race. If participating virtually, participants are mailed a Race Kit with their “Swag” and are able to submit a photo to receive a branded photo that they can share on Social Media.  The Moovin’ thru the Midway 5K Presented by Wells Fargo benefits our Non-Profit Partner, Military Families United.

Charity

Military Families United is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to Honor the Fallen, Support Those Who Fight, and Serve Their Families. We are a coalition of Blue Star, Gold Star, Next of Kin, Veterans, and Patriotic American Families who share a deep appreciation for our men and women in uniform and support them in their mission to keep America safe. Founded in 2005 to provide an avenue for military families to remind the nation of the importance of supporting our military and the mission they have been given to accomplish, we expanded to provide charitable programs that offer families direct support. Through a portfolio of unique services, events, and advocacy programs, we seek to ensure that future generations of Americans will never forget the sacrifices of our courageous military and that these men and women and their families receive the support we can provide.
